Brackett Library

Harding’s first dedicated library, the Beaumont Memorial Library was built in 1950. After multiple additions through the years, the library eventually received a complete remodel in 1989. The only part of the Beaumont that remained were a couple of outer walls and the large, steel-reinforced columns needed to hold the hundreds of thousands of books planned to go on the library’s second floor. This remodel also came with a name change and the new library became Brackett Library, named in honor of the Brackett family who provided an endowment for the library and a large donation towards the remodel project.
