Chapel is possibly the most distinguishable part of Harding University. It creates a level of community that is a staple of the Harding experience. While the location and other aspects of chapel have changed over the years, the goal has always remained the same. It is a place in which the whole student body, faculty, and staff come together to worship God, connect as a community, and grow spiritually.

1930: When chapel was first held at the Searcy campus, it took place in Godden Hall before being moved to the Administration Auditorium in 1952.

1970’s: Chapel was held in the Administration Auditorium until 1979, when it was moved to the newly built Benson Auditorium.

2020:  This was the first time chapel was canceled for an extended period of time. When students returned in the fall of 2020, chapel was held virtually.
