Intramural sports have their roots in the 1924-25 school year, but social clubs didn’t participate until the spring of 1946 when men’s social clubs entered teams in the basketball intramural tournaments.

Club teams played against independent intramural teams, but the 1946 championship games of both the First Round and Second Round Tournaments included Sub-T and TNT. Sub-T came out on top in both tournaments and was crowned the 1946 intramural basketball champion.

Women’s social clubs began participating in intramural softball in the fall of 1961 and soon garnered their own column in the weekly Bison newspaper. The women’s clubs also played basketball and volleyball in the spring of 1962.
