Hammon Student Center

To better fit the needs of a growing campus, a new student center was built in 1973 to replace the Ganus Student Center. The new Hammon Student Center, named after donors Charles and Marie Hammon, housed the bookstore, post office, a bowling alley, the offices of the Petit Jean, The Bison and the student association. The student center received an update in 1992 with one of the more obvious updates being the new all-glass entryway. To accommodate growing enrollment, a renovation in 2000 removed the bowling alley to allow for additional space for student use including a lounge area, computer stations, and more food vendors.
